Equality and Diversity e-Learning

We live in a diverse society in which we interact with people who have different backgrounds, values and beliefs. In order to reflect this, heath care organisations must promote equality, diversity and human rights and value the benefits that this brings.

The Equality and Diversity e-Learning demonstrates the importance of promoting equality and human rights and of valuing diversity within the heath sector and wider society. The package describes people's rights as enshrined within current legislation and the need to treat everyone with dignity, courtesy and respect, valuing people as individuals. Scenarios illustrate how to identify and take action to overcome discrimination; and to promote diversity, equality of opportunity and a non-discriminatory culture. The training describes what to do if there are concerns, including following whistle blowing, bullying and dignity procedures.
